Welcome to the homepage of the
65M sailboat
class.
In
2008 some multihullers on various bulletin boards discussed building RG65 sized
multihulls. The first boat sailing well and sized 65cm was designed
by German sailor Peter Gernert. The guys at rcsailing.net founded the 65M
a development class.
First
designs came up in 2009 by Phanchita Supasiri-thanawat, who designed a Catamaran
and let Ernst Zemann an Austrian
multihull designer draw two different Trimaran hull sets and Dick Lemke an American multihull enthusiast, who started a Trimaran and a Catamaran.
The 65M Class was formed to develop RG65 sized
multihull R/C sailboats. These boats are the fastest
boats on the water less than 26" long. Emphasis is on quick building, low
cost and high speed. The class was founded on the idea that class rules
should encourage innovation while keeping boats similar.
